Detroit in Hard Times

August 27, 2010

The Admiral brings this very saddening report to our attention on the hard times that Detroit has fallen on.  A resident points to a house that is selling for $50. Thirty-storey buildings stand vacant. Only the knowledge that this will be reversed comforts. And that is no comfort, I’m sure, to the affected residents. Thank you, Admiral.

This is so terribly sad. My own nearby large town is starting to look the same way. Even the little town I live in has many empty shops. Our reality, at the moment, looks quite grim, but better times are on the way, but like you said, Steve, that gives little comfort to the affected residents.

What ideas do people have to bring new life and energy to Detroit?
